Euro 2000 is likely to be Dorinel Munteanu's last competitive competition for Romania after establishing himself in the national side for the past decade, second only to Gheorghe Hagi as his country's most capped international.
Equally adept playing in defence or midfield, Munteanu is also known for his attacking abilities, scoring 10 goals in 86 internationals.
But he will probably be best remembered for his goal that never was when his 20 yard-strike was disallowed in Euro 96 against Bulgaria, effectively knocking Romania out of the tournament.
Munteanu's long career has seen him move from Cercle Bruges to FC Cologne and to VfL Wolfsburg, where he is currently playing.
Desperate to make his last tournament successful, Munteanu, along with several other Romanian veterans, will do his best to make Euro 2000 their most memorable.
