Erik Mykland
A skilful midfielder, possessing vision and flair, decided to quit the international stage after his contributions in France but then had a change of heart. After an indifferent start to the Euro 2000 qualifiers Norway's seven successive wins coincided with Mykland's return. Made his Norway debut against Tunisia in a 3-1 win in November 1990. Had a brief spell with Utrecht in Holland shortly after the World Cup in 1994 and then moved to Austrian side FC Linz in 1996. Joined the Greek team Panathanaikos in 1997. Although he is often criticised for not scoring enough goals his tackling and commitment are vital to his game. His energy and experience will help Norway greatly.
