Premiership stars in Norway squad
Tore Andre Flo
Tore Andre Flo will spearhead Norway's attack
Norway coach Nils Johan Semb has named eight Premiership players in his final 22-man squad for Euro 2000.

The side's build-up to Euro 2000 has been hit by a succession of injury scares, and the likes of Ronny Johnsen and Oyvind Leonhardsen were already ruled out.

But Semb has been able to name many other English-based stars including strikers Steffen Iversen, Tore Andre Flo and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"There were many tough choices," Semb said of his experienced but ageing party, which includes nine players over the age of 30.

"I've got a squad I'm very comfortable with," he added.

Goalkeeper Thomas Myhre, who spent the closing weeks of the season on loan at Birmingham, also made the final cut despite losing his first-team place at Everton.

Stig Ing Bjornebye
Norway have recalled veteran defender Stig Inge Bjornebye
In all, there are eight Premiership stars in the 22, as well as defender Vidar Riseth who plays for Celtic.

There is also a recall for veteran left-back Stig Inge Bjornebye, who is currently on loan from Liverpool at Danish side Brondby.

"He has a solid left foot... and has signalled he is interested in playing for the national team again," Semb said of Bjornebye, who has played 70 games for the national side.

Norway, who beat Slovakia 2-0 in a friendly on Saturday, face Italy in their final warm-up match on 3 June in Oslo.

Norway squad:

Goalkeepers: Morten Bakke (Molde), Thomas Myhre (Everton), Frode Olsen (Seville).

Defenders: Trond Andersen (Wimbledon), Henning Berg (Manchester United), Andre Bergdolmo (Rosenborg), Bjorn Otto Bragstad (Rosenborg), Dan Eggen (Alaves), Vegard Heggem (Liverpool), Stig Inge Bjornebye (Liverpool).

Strikers: John Carew (Rosenborg), Tore Andre Flo (Chelsea), Steffen Iversen (Tottenham Hotspur), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester United).
