Angelo Di Livio
Secured his place with a series of combative performances in Serie A making two appearances as a substitute in qualifying - his last appearance coming against Switzerland. A very experienced midfielder who has played with no less than seven Italian clubs. Began his career with hometown side Roma, before moving on to Reggiana, Nocerina, Perugia and Padova. His strength and fearsome commitement earned a move to Juventus where he has confounded his critics with a series of battling displays. Joined Fiorentina last summer and has performed consistently well this season. Di Livio is a useful crosser of the ball and is equally as comfortable as a wing-back or midfielder and his versatility will help his country greatly. He was sent-off against England in the 0-0 draw in Rome in 1997 and made four appearances at the World Cup in 1998 coming on in extra-time in the quarter-final defeat against France.
