The combative midfielder had an excellent 1998/99 season in the capital and was snapped up in Inter's spending spree last summer.

Di Biagio is essentially a defensive midfielder and his strength lies in breaking up opposition attacks only getting forward when needed.

He made his international debut against Slovakia in January 1998, and although he had an excellent World Cup later that year he will be remembered for missing a penalty in the shoot-out against France.

He made three appearances in Italy's Euro 2000 qualifying campaign.
