Jens Jeremies
Jeremies earned his first cap in a friendly against South Africa in November 1997 and was a regular with Munich 1860 before joining East German greats Dynamo Dresden and then Bayern Munich last season. Jeremies plays from the heart and his distinctive style has earned him the reputation of being one of the most consistent players in the Bundesliga. The tenacious midfielder is also a wonderful passer of the ball and, such is his popularity in Germany, he is tipped to succeed Lothar Matthaus in the sweeper role if he can ever persuade him to retire from the international game.
