Thomas Linke

Thomas Linke
Linke is an uncompromising figure in defence who made his debut for Germany in their 3-0 victory over South Africa in 1997.

He has been the lion-heart at the back of the Bayern Munich rearguard since his switch from Schalke in 1998.

Looks likely to partner Markus Babbel in central defence with whom he has struck up a brilliant partnership at club level.

He is dominant in the air and robust in the tackle and is regarded as one of the most improved players in the German side.
