Thierry Henry
Only just into his twenties, the gangly striker can almost be counted among the veterans of the national side, having played a full part in France 98 where he scored three goals in six games. After a successful stint at Monaco, he left to join Juventus in February 1999 after becoming disillusioned with the small crowds and lack of atmosphere in the French principality. However the move to Italy did not go to plan and he was rescued from the reserves by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for a club record fee of £10m. Quick, direct and surprisingly skilful, Henry will pose plenty of problems for opposing defences in Euro 2000.
