Desailly horse play
![]() Marcel Desailly - slammed for elbow on Cannavaro
Chelsea's Marcel Desailly and his French team mates have come under fierce attack from Italy's Fabio Cannavaro after the Euro 2000 Final.
Cannavaro described Desailly as "a horse" after an off the ball incident during France's 2-1 win in Rotterdam. David Trezeguet's golden goal sealed victory for Les Bleus after Sylvain Wiltord's last-gasp equaliser had cancelled out Marco Delvecchio's opener. But Desailly was lucky to escape a red-card in the first-half when the referee missed an elbow aimed at Cannavaro's face. Parma defender Cannavaro said: "I thought Desailly had become a man, but he's remained a horse, trotting along with blinkers on. "The French had no respect for the defeated. They are extremely arrogant."
