Gareth Barry
With England's dearth of left-footed players Barry could be a vital asset this summer. He possesses no end of skill and distributes the ball with excellent composure. His career has developed at an exceptional pace having already skippered the England U-18 team. Moved from Brighton in controversial circumstances to Villa and after making his Premiership debut in 1998, coming on as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday, he has not looked back. He appeared for the Under-21s when he was only 17, making his debut against the Czech Republic. A fine display against Ukraine will be very encouraging for those who still believe England do not have any quality left-footed players. Could be a real surprise this summer.
