Steve McManaman
Steve McManaman seems to have hit a rich vein of form at the perfect time after his switch from Merseyside to Madrid last summer.
The former Liverpool star enjoyed a free role in midfield at Anfield with his hypnotic skills and mesmerising runs.
However, he was always heavily criticised for his lack of goals and inconsistency, although two goals for England against Luxembourg gave his doubters pause for thought.
The 28-year-old winger began his Spanish career quietly but after overcoming injury and loss of form, he has emerged as the vital cog in Real Madrid's Champions' League campaign.
He is unlikely to play in his favoured role on the right for England but could figure in a similar role down the left-hand side.
