Keegan waits on Parlour scan
Ray Parlour's chances of making England's Euro 2000 squad rest on the results of a scan on a knee ligament injury he suffered against Brazil.
Parlour was due to have the problem assessed by a specialist and the ensuing results will hold the key to one of coach Kevin Keegan's toughest decisions.
The Arsenal star is thought to be battling for a spot in the final 22 with fellow midfielders Jamie Redknapp, Kieron Dyer and Nick Barmby.
And Keegan admitted: "Ray is certainly not fit enough to be considered against the Ukraine and it is a concern at this late stage.
"If the message comes back that it's going to be a week to 10 days, there will definitely not be a problem.
"I have to make the decision as to whether that is a risk I can take."
Of the incident that has hit Parlour's Euro 2000 hopes, Keegan added: "Ray's so unlucky because he was only on the pitch for a short time," he said.
"It was a bad tackle, but the referee didn't see it."
