Ince and Wise earn England places
Kevin Keegan has named both Paul Ince and Dennis Wise in his England team to play Brazil on Saturday.
Steve McManaman, who is virtually assured of a place following his Champions League heroics with Real Madrid, is rested for the game.
Keegan has opted to play Wise on the left alongside Ince, Paul Scholes and David Beckham in midfield.
Tony Adams, who has been struggling with a back problem, is replaced in the centre of defence by fellow Arsenal defender Martin Keown.
Alan Shearer is partnered by Michael Owen up front, as Keegan sent out his firmest signal yet that they will be his preferred strikeforce.
And Shearer was quick to back the inclusion of Wise in the side.
He said: "Dennis has had a tremendous season and he capped it all last week with a great performance in the FA Cup final.
"With him on the left and David Beckham on the right, hopefully they'll rain some crosses in for me and Michael.
"The team looks very exciting. Brazil are the best and we have to see how far we've come and how far we have to go.
"You want to play the very best to measure yourself. Certainly, we shouldn't fear them. They do give you chances and hopefully we'll take them."
"It's a bit of stop-start thing. We haven't set the world alight as a partnership," he continued.
"There are times when we have worked very well and times when we have not worked so well.
"We have worked on some things over the last few days and the time to look at us is in the games, starting on Saturday."
England team to play Brazil at Wembley:
Seaman (Arsenal), G Neville, P Neville (both Man Utd), Campbell (Tottenham), Keown (Arsenal), Ince (Middlesbrough), Wise (Chelsea), Beckham, Scholes (both Man Utd), Shearer (Newcastle), Owen (Liverpool).
