Wilmots spoils Schmeichel's party
Denmark 2-2 Belgium
Marc Wilmots forced a draw for Belgium as his strike 17 minutes from time spoiled Peter Schmeichel's party for Denmark.
Schmeichel scored his first goal for Denmark as he fired home a second-half penalty in the 2-2 draw in Copenhagen.
He slotted past opposite number Geert Vlieger on the hour to mark his 121st game for his country in memorable style, before Wilmots hauled Belgium level 17 minutes from time.
Jon Dahl Tomasson looked to have opened the scoring for Denmark as early as the fifth minute, only to see his effort ruled out for offside.
But the co-hosts of Euro 2000 are getting used to playing friendlies and never lacked a competitive edge.
They levelled from the penalty spot on 58 minutes, Lorenzo Staelens on target following a foul by Danish defender Jan Heintze.
Seven minutes later Schmeichel restored Denmark's lead when he calmly sent stand-in keeper Vlieger the wrong way from the spot.
Vliege came on in the 29th minute to replace veteran keeper Filip De Wilde after he had collided with Denmark striker Allan Nielsen.
