![]() The first goal: Dugarry beats Westerveld to the ball
France 2-3 Holland
Amsterdam 0 mins: The game begins with a top class French reserve side needing a draw or a win to win the group, while full strength Holland require a victory to stay on home soil for the remainder of the tournament. 5 mins: A Dennis Bergkamp free kick is headed towards goal by Phillippe Cocu, but French keeper Bernard Lama saves with his tracksuited legs.
7 mins: Johan Micoud's corner is headed into the net by Christophe Dugarry. Dutch keeper Sander Westerveld came out for the cross but missed it completely.
10 mins: Patrick Kluivert has a first sight of goal, but strikes straight at Lama from just inside the area.
13 mins: Kluivert latches onto a long ball and cuts inside Frank Leboeuf before firing a fierce shot past the left hand of Lama and into the net.
19 mins: Dugarry appears to catch Marc Overmars late on the edge of the French penalty area. The Arsenal winger receives lengthy treatment but there is no free kick.

51 mins: Patrick Vieira fouls Edgar Davids and Frank de Boer steps up to take a free kick from 35 yards. The shot beats the wall, and Lama can only push it into the roof of the net. 56 mins: Dugarry curls a shot straight at Westerveld as the two sides trade neat passing movements, blow for blow.
