Extreme bodies: Caravaggio and Bacon

An unusual, joint exhibition of masterpieces by two artists separated by three centuries has opened in Rome.

The aim of the exhibition is to bring out their shared sense of the extreme when it comes to the human form.

It is four hundred years since the death of the Italian painter Caravaggio and one hundred years since the birth of Francis Bacon.

Duncan Kennedy reports from Rome.
