Growling singer Tom Waits is one of several iconic stars featured in The World is Yours, a book and accompanying exhibition celebrating the work of acclaimed music photographer Lawrence Watson.

A grimy hotel in Swindon provided the unprepossessing location for this shot of INXS singer Michael Hutchence, taken at the height of his 1990s fame for the cover of Spin magazine.
Watson took controversial rapper Snoop Dogg to a disused prison in Los Angeles for this 1990s photograph. "I was one of the few to get Snoop Dogg behind bars!" he jokes.
LL Cool J is another rap star that Watson has captured during his distinguished career. The photographer recalls gun shots going off shortly after this shot was taken in 1980s Philadelphia.
The four members of Blur - Dave Rowntree, Alex James, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon - prove willing, if hardly ebullient subjects in this 1990s photograph, taken in Holborn in central London.
These two images show Blur's Britpop rivals Oasis. The top shot was taken for the inner sleeve of 2005 album Don't Believe the Truth, while the one below shows them in concert in Glasgow in 2006.
Watson took this shot of Pulp, another stalwart of the Britpop era, in his Highbury Grove studio in north London. "Luckily there was a mannequin storeroom next door who lent us some props," he recalls.
Grace Jones shows she is a slave to the rhythm in this 2008 portrait. "This shot was taken on the dance floor at about 6am in the morning, as part of a 23-hour photo session!" remembers Watson.
This shot of the Charlatans was taken at the famous Rockfield Studios in Wales. The World is Yours exhibition continues at the Londonewcastle Project Space in east London until 7 June.
