Björk director 'would consider porn'
![]() Triumph: Björk and Lars von Trier at Cannes
The respected Danish director Lars Von Trier has told a German magazine that he would consider making a pornographic movie.
The film-maker, whose latest movie Dancer in the Dark won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, told Cinema magazine about his plans. "I don't see what's so terrible about that," he was quoted as saying. He added that it was a shame something which he termed as important as pornography was so neglected. In the film Dancer in the Dark, financed by the UK's FilmFour, pop singer Björk plays a Czech immigrant who is going blind and lives out a fantasy life inspired by Hollywood musicals. Blue movie Icelandic singer Björk also won the Best Actress award at Cannes for her performance and wrote the soundtrack for the movie. Von Trier added he would not be content with any old blue movie. However, he would have to see how he could treat the subject "so that it would be interesting as a film". Von Trier captured international attention in 1996 with his film Breaking the Waves, starring Emily Watson. He is no stranger to controversy - his film The Idiots offended censors in many countries by including an orgy scene.
