The band's Shane Filan was back up on stage to pick up the award for Best-looking Pop Star.

The awards on Sunday brought more reward for teenager Craig David, who won the award for Popworld Best New Act.

The 19-year-old garage and R&B star is the youngest male solo artist to have a debut single go in at number one.

Last month he picked up the highest ever number of nominations for one artist in the Mobo Awards, eventually walking off with three awards.

In the battle of the teen bands S Club 7 beat Steps to the award for Best Album - for 7 - but Steps later exacted revenge, winning the award for Best Live Act.

Robbie Williams won the award for Best Male Artist, while Britney Spears won the Best Female award.

The award ceremony is to be broadcast on Monday on Sky One at 1800GMT.
