Robbie turns critic
Robbie Williams
Robbie the reviewer: Star brings his skills to the gaming world
Robbie Williams, not content with pop stardom, is to turn his hand to reviewing computer games.

A self-confessed computer game fan, he will write reviews in a tie-up between his own website and a games site, gameplay.com.

I have always been well into games

Robbie Williams

Robbie has already flirted with computer games - his song It's Only Us featured in the Fifa 2000 games title.

The singer also appeared in the game, albeit a digital version of himself.

Robbie Williams said: "I have always been well into games and gameplay's way of playing and talking about games really appealed to me.

"Their irreverent attitude and sense of fun fit perfectly with my way of thinking."

Keen football player

A spokesman for gameplay.com said: "Robbie loves gaming and he is the perfect person to review for us.

"He is very keen on football and driving games."

The star is a keen football player and reportedly a huge fan of football management games.

"Robbie spent some time with us at the office and confessed his love of footie management games and jokingly said he has wasted several years playing the games."

He added: "People who like Robbie's music are often gamers."

Robbie, whose video for Rock DJ was recently banned in the Dominican Republic, is celebrating after sales of his album Sing When You're Winning passed the 1.5m mark.

According to latest figures, the album sold more than 1,774,043 copies world-wide.

The Robbie Williams and gameplay.com tie is due to start at the end of next month.

Gameplay.com also has plans for Robbie to appear in a live webcast over both sites.
