Britney's Brummie trouble
Britney Spears
Britney Spears: Teen sensation
Teenage pop star Britney Spears has been forced to delay the start of her UK tour.

The singer was due to kick off her tour at Birmingham's NEC. But the concerts have been pulled because of technical difficulties.

Instead the original dates of 7 and 8 October have been put back to 20 and 21 November. However tickets for the shows are still valid and a refund is available.

This is the second time Britney's world tour has run into trouble. Earlier this year, she had to cancel a show at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado because her stage set did not fit in the venue.

Barring any other problems, British leg of Britney's world tour now is due to get under way with three shows at London's Wembley Arena on 10, 11 and 12 October.

Britney strutts her stuff
Along with the likes of pop rival Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears is one of the new generation of teen queens.

The former Mickey Mouse Club star became an overnight sensation with her debut single Baby One More Time, which topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Released in the UK in February 1999, it became one of the fastest-selling singles of all time.

It was followed to the top of the charts by the debut album of the same name and the follow-up, Oops...I Did It Again, also reached the number one spot earlier this year.

Britney also gathered an awesome array of awards last year, including Female Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas and Best Pop Act, Best Female Performer, Best Breakthrough Act and Best Song at the MTV Europe awards in Dublin.
