Top of the Pops cuts Robbie duet
Robbie Williams
Not before the watershed: Robbie Williams' last video was also cut
The video for Robbie Williams' duet with Kylie Minogue, Kids, will be censored when it gets its world premiere on BBC One's Top of the Pops.

The flagship music programme will screen the video this Friday, but the four-and-a-half-minute long promo will be cut short because of a reference to sodomy in the lyrics.

A Top of the Pops spokesman said: "Although we accept that lots of pop music is inextricably linked with sex, we have to bear in mind people's sensitivities and the large age range of our audience.

"We have decided that it is not appropriate to show the video in full because some of the lyrics may cause offence to some viewers."

This is not the first time part of a Robbie Williams video has hit the cutting-room floor.

For his recent number one Rock DJ, he was seen stripping down to his underwear before stripping off his flesh as well. It was cut for the Friday night show, but shown in full on a late-night weekend repeat of Top of the Pops.

However, this week, there is no weekend repeat of the show to accommodate the BBC's Olympic coverage.
