Raunchy scenes from Big Brother are edited out

The producers of Big Brother are hoping to cash in on the programme's success with a video release of raunchy footage not shown on TV.

Big Brother Uncensored will contain 100 minutes of footage, including nudity which was not suitable for broadcast.

Programme makers have so far shown just a few revealing shots, mostly limited to the contestants taking showers.

Nichola and Melanie were seen virtually naked in some episodes but so far the programme has teased more than revealed.

The 10 volunteers signed contacts before starting on the programme which allow the producers to use the footage for spin-offs like videos.

'Once in a lifetime'

A book is also expected to follow in time for the Christmas market.

The video will also feature highlights of the show which finishes on Friday when viewers choose which of the remaining trio of Darren, Craig and Anna should win the £70,000 prize.

Executive producer Peter Bazalgette said: "A show like this comes along once in a lifetime.

"It has dominated the ratings, the papers and our lives.

"On eviction nights there were Big Brother parties across Britain. Now there's another excuse to get together, around this exclusive video."

Two documentaries, one looking behind the scenes of the UK programme and one examining the Big Brother phenomenon around the world, are to be shown on Channel 4 on Saturday.

The video, made by production company Bazal and Warner Vision UK, is slated for release on 16 October.
