Douglas blasts wedding reports
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones
Douglas: There is "not an ounce of truth" in the rumours
Actor Michael Douglas has strongly denied reports that he and fiancée Catherine Zeta Jones are planning to marry at a resort in California on 30 September.

On Thursday, the British tabloid The Sun reported that the couple had chosen to tie the knot at the Spanish-style Bacara Resort and Spa near Santa Barbera.

But Allen Burry, a spokesman for Douglas' Further Films production company said there was "not an ounce of truth" in the story.

Burry added: "They are not getting married on the 30th. They are not getting married at this place. They do not even know where it is."

A spokeswoman for the resort also said the story was untrue.

Douglas, 55, and Zeta Jones, 30, have been together since March 1999. Zeta Jones gave birth to their first child, Dylan, in August.

They have previously said they do intend to marry by the end of the year.

No details

Before Zeta Jones found out she was expecting a baby, the couple had been planning a September wedding.

The date was then postponed to give the actress time to "regain her shape" after the pregnancy.

But since no more details have been disclosed, speculation over what would be the celebrity wedding of the year has been running rife.

Zeta Jones, who was born in Swansea, first met Douglas at the Deauville Film Festival, France, in 1998.

The actress, who started her career in the British TV series The Darling Buds of May, has gone on to be a major cinema box office draw, starring in movies such as Entrapment and The Mask Of Zorro.

Douglas, son of Hollywood veteran Kirk Douglas, has starred in box office hits such as Fatal Attraction, Wall Street and Basic Instinct.

His latest film is the comedy Wonder Boys, which also stars Tobey Maguire, and opens in the UK on 3 November.

Douglas plays an English professor who hasn't had anything published since his award-winning novel seven years earlier.

The movie follows him through a riotous weekend of self-exploration and discovery.
