Singer Peter Andre has revealed he will be a presenter on Channel 4's new teatime programme, The 5 O'Clock Show.

Andre told Now magazine that he would not be able to present the show every week but would appear regularly.

"I'm so excited about this... it's great to be focusing on my TV work," said the singer.

The Channel 4 website states that there will be a different guest celebrity host each week who will welcome "a wealth of talented stars".

TV experience

Regular features will include a look at pets and children will play a key part on the show.

There will also be music performances from new bands and established acts, plus reviews of the latest TV shows, DVDs and music releases.

The transmission date of the first show has not yet been announced.

Andre had a stint on flagship daytime programme This Morning as a showbusiness reporter last year following the break up of his marriage to model Katie Price.

Andre and Price divorced last September, four-and-a-half years after meeting on reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
