Justin Bieber gets mobbed in New Zealand.

Teenage pop star Justin Bieber and his mother were mobbed by fans as they arrived at New Zealand airport, despite security being stepped up.

Writing on the micro-blogging site Twitter, the 16-year-old said: "Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people."

Police refused to let him meet with fans because of safety fears.

Security was beefed up after several fans were crushed before a Bieber concert in Australia.

Before arriving in New Zealand, Bieber had told fans that he wanted to sign autographs and have pictures taken with them.

However, he was rushed through the airport on arrival, after fans began pushing.

Bieber, who has a huge international teen following, is best known for singing One Time and Never Let You Go.
