Cheryl Cole's stage outfits have attracted a lot of attention
X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has retained her crown as the world's best-dressed female celebrity.
The singer kept her top spot as Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham dropped down the list compiled by Glamour magazine.
Instead, R&B singer Rihanna and Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively took second and third places in the annual poll.
The results, which also saw model Katie Price named as worst-dressed woman, were compiled from around 14,000 votes from the magazine's readers.
Cole, who is often spotted wearing figure-hugging outfits but does not have one signature style, put on an unofficial weekly fashion show in the latter half of 2009 as style-conscious fans and fashion critics tuned into the X Factor to judge the outfits worn by her and fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue.
Cole wore a memorable military-style outfit with split-leg trousers when she performed her number one hit Fight For This Love for the first time on the show.
Designer Henry Holland said he understood why Cole had kept the top spot.
"X Factor was my fashion moment of the year because of Cheryl. She wore Giles Deacon, Marios Schwab and Richard Nicoll. She was flexing her fashion mojo," he said.
Minogue was voted into sixth place in the best-dressed list - her highest ranking so far.
But, for the first time in the poll's eight-year history, her sister Kylie failed to make the top 50.
BEST DRESSED WOMEN
1. Cheryl Cole
3. Blake Lively
4. Leighton Meester
5. Alexa Chung
6. Dannii Minogue
7. Kate Moss
8. Victoria Beckham
10. Emma Watson
Second-placed Rihanna was described by the magazine as a "fearless dresser" while Lively was said be "on the right side of the classy/trashy divide".
Newcomers to the list are singers Lady Gaga, Florence Welch, Pixie Lott and Leona Lewis and actresses, Angelina Jolie, Anna Friel and Twilight star Kristen Stewart.
Those who have slipped down the list also include Hollywood stars Anne Hathaway and noted fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker - whose latest Sex and the City movie is currently in post-production.
Stewart's fellow Twilight star, the British actor Robert Pattinson, was named the best-dressed man.
Model Price was not only named worst-dressed female but also, with her husband Alex Reid, won the crown for "worst-dressed couple".
The pair beat Victoria and David Beckham and Coleen and Wayne Rooney for the honour.
The results appear in the May edition of the magazine.
