Jay Sean tops Asian digital chart

Jay Sean
Jay Sean is currently enjoying plenty of success in the US

Jay Sean has topped the inaugural official Asian music download chart with his single Do You Remember.

The R&B star's song, also featuring Sean Paul and Lil Jon, beat Imran Khan's Bewafa to the number one spot.

Female singer Jaya made it to number three with DJ Do It Again, while independent artist Foji's fourth spot with Dafa Ho Ja came as a surprise.

The highest-charting Bollywood track was at five with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's Sajdaa from the film My Name is Khan.

The new chart is made up of music of British Asian or South Asian origin, including Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan.

The figures are collated by the Official Charts Company which puts together the mainstream UK top 40 download chart, in which Sean's Do You Remember was number 33 last week.
