Oscar nominees have arrived at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles for the 82nd Academy Awards.

British actor Colin Firth is nominated for the best actor award for his performance in A Single Man, up against Jeff Bridges and George Clooney.

Firth told the BBC's Tom Brook why being nominated is a high that just can't last.
