Boyzone will host a musical tribute show in memory of late band member Stephen Gately, ITV has announced.

The hour-long show will feature Boyzone performances, including new and old material, and one-off collaborations - all dedicated to Gately.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh, the band's manager, said: "Stephen would be delighted to have a night dedicated to him."

Boyzone: A Tribute to Stephen Gately, will air on ITV1 in the spring.

Walsh, who will also feature in the show, said: "I know he'll be watching down on us all on the night with a big smile on his face."

A number of celebrity guests will also take part.

The show will chart Gately's life from his Dublin upbringing to his rise to fame.

The star died aged 33 at his Majorcan holiday home in October last year.

A post-mortem examination revealed he had died of natural causes.
