AC/DC first played Donington Park at the 1981 Monsters of Rock concert
Heavy metal legends AC/DC are to appear for the first time at the Download rock festival, running from 11 to 13 June.
It will see the band play at Donington Park in Leicestershire for the fourth time, after three earlier appearances at the Monsters of Rock concert.
Megadeth, Motorhead, Them Crooked Vultures and Stone Temple Pilots are also confirmed for this year's event.
Organisers claim this year's Download will be the biggest UK music festival of 2010 after Glastonbury.
Tickets for the event, now with an expanded capacity of 110,000, go on sale on 29 January.
'Home of rock'
Last year's festival saw performances from The Prodigy, Enter Shikari, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and Pendulum.
Download promoter Andy Copping said this year's event would be "one for the history books".
"It will see the return of the world's greatest rock band to the most legendary and spiritual home of rock," he continued.
US band Deftones, Welsh group Bullet for My Valentine and Wolfmother from Australia have also been added to the 2010 line-up.
Rock "supergroup" Them Crooked Vultures features Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Nirvana, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.
