How cloth cat Bagpuss got his pink stripes

The children's television programme Bagpuss was created in 1973 by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin.

The programme featured a cloth cat called Bagpuss who lived in a shop owned by a child called Emily.

In this 2005 interview, Oliver Postgate explains how Bagpuss got his distinctive look.
