Disney's animated version of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol has topped the UK and Ireland box office chart in its sixth week of release.

It is the second time it has reached the top spot - it went straight in at number one when it was first released.

Over the three-day weekend, the film raked in box office returns of £1.5m.

An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are was a new entry at number two, making £883,990.

Animated alien adventure Planet 51 climbed up one place to number three, with The Twilight Saga: New Moon dropping two places to five.

Nativity!, starring Martin Freeman and Ashley Jensen, moved up one place to six.

Jamie Foxx crime thriller, Law Abiding Citizen, slid two places down the chart to seven.

Disaster movie 2012 also fell two places to number eight.

The Box and A Serious Man rounded out the chart at nine and 10 respectively.
