Actor Alan Cumming, star of films including the Spy Kids trilogy and X2: X-Men United, has collected his OBE at Buckingham Palace. The Scottish-born star, who now lives in the US, was honoured for services to film, theatre and the arts and for his work as a gay rights campaigner. "I have a voice because of my work. I'm loud and I speak my mind," he said. Anna Wing, who played Lou Beale in EastEnders, collected an MBE. She said it was "like going to heaven". "It was totally happy-making. I feel very privileged. It's the kind of sum total of one's own life... it's absolutely lovely," added the 95-year-old. Cumming, dressed head-to-toe in tartan, collected his OBE from the Princess Royal. He was joined by his civil partner Grant Shaffer, mother Mary and brother Tom. Cumming has also appeared in numerous TV shows including Sex And The City, Frasier and Third Rock From The Sun.
