The line-up for this year’s I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has been announced. Former EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin, 39, says the thought of cleaning the camp toilet “doesn’t fill me with joy - especially when a man’s been in the loo”.
Tanned Hollywood smoothie George Hamilton, 70, says he has been sleeping on the floor of his hotel room in preparation for the show. “I slept in the corner and looked out for any creepy crawlies or spiders to keep me company,” he said.
Former Strictly Dancer Camilla Dallerup, 35, says she is keen to show “that there is a different side to Camilla and that I’m not all glitz and glamour” before adding: “I think I will miss my one latte a day.”
TV chef Gino D'Acampo's pre-jungle interview in the I’m A Celebrity press pack runs to 1,847 words. But the 43-year-old insisted: "I don’t like to talk about myself."
Model-turned-singer Samantha Fox, 43, is looking forward to finding out more about herself. She said: “I’m going to see a side of me I’ve probably never seen before, all those little habits I’ve got I never knew I had… hopefully not burping."
Stuart Manning, 30, who plays Russ Owen in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, hopes he won’t be joined in the jungle by “a messy bunch”. “At home, all the towels are in size order, everything folded, and my bed has to be made first thing in the morning.”
Colin McAllister is going into the jungle with his partner and fellow interior decorator Justin Ryan. McAllister, 41, says the two are very close. “We have only one mobile phone," he said.
Justin Ryan, 42, aims to use his interior design skills in the jungle. He said: “I imagine we’ll be weaving all types of basket work, creating gorgeous throws and blankets from grass and special reeds.”
Sabrina Washington, 31, a former bandmate of Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon in girl band Mis-Teeq, will hope the show can revive her music career. “I am signed to a record company - they don’t know I’m coming in here."
Crowd-pleasing snooker player Jimmy White, 47, may struggle in the jungle if a preparatory camping session in his back garden with his six-year-old son is anything to go by. “It was just horrible - wet, cold, no TV,” he added.
Kim Woodburn, 67, of Kim and Aggie fame, is the self-titled “queen of clean”. Despite this, she said: “I’m going to pee wherever I can. I’m not getting out of bed at night in the dark with spiders dragging my knickers off.”
