Royal day out for Mrs Royle

The actor Sue Johnston received her OBE from the Queen at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Ms Johnston, who played the put-upon matriarch Barbara Royle in the series The Royle Family, said afterwards she doubted that the Queen had watched the programme.
