Thousands of people in cities across America - and numerous other countries - have dressed up as zombies to perform the Thriller dance from the iconic Michael Jackson video.

In Los Angeles an estimated 6,000 people turned up at the Nokia Plaza to take part in the attempt to break the world record for the biggest re-enactment of the dance.

The current record, set on what would have been Jackson's 51st birthday, stands at 13,597 people.
