Corrie star forced to wear trash

Coronation Street's Katherine Kelly has revealed how she was forced to wear her character's trashy outfits in Romania after her suitcase failed to turn up.

Becky McDonald is known for her brightly-coloured short skirts, high heels and cheap velour tracksuits.

The actress, who was filming a soap spin-off, said she was grateful when her case turned up after two days.

"I was sick of wearing Becky's outfits constantly. I had to wear her bikinis as my underwear," she said.

"My suitcase didn't arrive for two days and I phoned the producer and told him," she added.

"He was panicking because he thought it was Becky's giant leopard-print suitcase with all her costumes in it.

"He didn't seem bothered when I explained it was actually my personal one."

Kelly made the comments at the DVD launch of the Coronation Street special, which sees Becky bump into fellow Street regulars Roy and Hayley Cropper while on holiday.

The feature follows last year's Coronation Street DVD "soap bubble" Out Of Africa, which was shot on location in South Africa.
