Mercury nominees on being nominated

Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires, Bat For Lashes and Lisa Hannigan spoke to BBC News about what it is like to be nominated for this year's Mercury Award.

The award, now in its 17th year, aims to promote the best British and Irish albums of the last 12 months.

This year's award winner will be announced on 8 September.
