The BBC Proms season kicks off on Friday and for two months some of the world's most talented and successful musicians will be performing.
The director, Roger Wright, says the Proms reflects contemporary tastes with new Bollywood soundtracks but classical performances remain central to the festival.
Singer and musician Curtis Stigers said performing at the Proms will give him a chance to do something different.
BBC Breakfast spoke to Curtis Stigers and Roger Wright about the festival and caught a sneak preview of the Labeque sisters, Katia and Marielle, who will take to the stage on Friday at the Royal Albert Hall.
