Teenage pop star Miley Cyrus has announced dates for her first ever UK tour, which will start in December.

The 16-year-old will perform two night's at London's O2 Arena, before travelling to Dublin, Birmingham and Manchester for a further six dates.

Best known for starring in the US show Hannah Montana, Cyrus will be supported by older brother's band Metro Station.

Tickets for the tour, which is sure to include songs off her recently released album Breakout, go on sale on Friday.

Hidden identity

Last week she announced 45 dates for a north American tour which kicks off in September.

The daughter of musician Billy Ray has become a global superstar since she first appeared in Hannah Montana in 2006.

The Emmy award-nominated show, which sees Cyrus play a school girl with a hidden identity as a pop star, has spawned several soundtrack albums.

Hannah Montana: The Movie was released in May and earlier this month Cyrus confirmed she has signed for a fourth series of the show.

The actress and singer has also just launched her own clothing line which will be sold in the US store Walmart.
