Audio slideshow: Body of art

In one corner of the contemporary art world, it seems as though flesh and blood are more important than paint and canvas.

For BBC Radio 4, Bob Dickinson met some unusual performance artists - from a man who has an ear surgically attached to his arm, to a woman who had extensive plastic surgery in the name of art.

The Body of Art will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 1130 BST on Tuesday 9 June.
It will then be available for seven days on the BBC iPlayer.
