Actor Philip Glenister talks about the third, and final, series
Drama Ashes to Ashes, starring Philip Glenister, will return for a third and final series, the BBC has confirmed.
Producers have revealed the climax of the next series will reveal who the character Gene Hunt really is.
Writer Ashley Pharoah said the series, set in the 80s, will offer "intriguing twists and turns to keep viewers guessing about the final outcome".
The finale of the current series, which is set in 1982, will be broadcast on Monday evening at 2100 BST.
The conclusion of the second series will be shown later
The first ever episode of the time travelling cop show saw Alex Drake (Keeley Hawes) waking up in the 1980s after being shot in an incident in modern-day London.
In the next series, fans will finally learn how Drake's journey will come to an end.
Official figures said the opening of the second series drew in 7.9 million viewers, but figures have dropped since - with a low of 4.3 million on 25 May.
