US photographer Cindy Sherman appears as the model in all her photographs in a variety of guises.
Her latest exhibition, at the Spreuth Magers gallery in London, draws from this series of works depicting society women.
The series, which is on display until 27 May, examines glamour and the ageing process in women with an acute sense of social hierarchy.
Sherman works alone in her studio doing all the hair, wardrobe and make-up for her shoots, including latex mask work.
The photos are taken in front of a green screen so that Sherman can manipulate the background image separately.
The 55-year-old artist has exhibited around the world. This set of works arrives in London from New York and Berlin.
Sherman has been her own model for 30 years. Andy Warhol once said of the artist: "She's good enough to be a real actress."
The artist has always taken on female personas, but says she intends to take on male masks next.
