Joaquin Phoenix started his Miami gig four hours late
Actor turned musician Joaquin Phoenix has apparently turned on an audience member who heckled his second outing as a rapper in a Miami Beach nightclub.
He jumped off the stage to confront the man before guards stepped in.
The episode was filmed by actor Casey Affleck. One fan at the gig speculated the entire thing was a stunt.
Luis Gendron told Associated Press: "Affleck's camera was filming the whole time, so it makes me think he has ulterior motives."
Affleck, who is also Phoenix's brother-in-law, is making a film about the Walk the Line star's change of career.
The camera pans out to a wider shot just before the performer decides to jump off the stage.
Phoenix had kept the audience waiting almost four hours for his performance. He finally took to the stage just before two o'clock in the morning.
"He knows the game he's playing, and he's good at it," Gendron said of Phoenix.

The confrontation is the latest in a series of bizarre episodes involving Phoenix.
In October 2008, his publicist announced the Oscar-nominated star would not be acting any more, and would he would be concentrating on making it as a hip-hop artist.
An eccentric appearance on the David Letterman show, where he refused to engage with the interviewer's questions, was parodied by Ben Stiller at this year's Oscars.
The performer, who has grown an abundance of facial hair in recent months, made his debut as a rapper at a Las Vegas nightclub in January this year.
