'Curb' reunion for Seinfeld stars

Seinfeld was a huge ratings hit during nine seasons in the US

The stars of classic US sitcom Seinfeld are to reunite in episodes of HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, it has been announced.

Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richard will appear together in the autumn.

Curb Your Enthusiasm stars Larry David - the co-creator of Seinfeld - as an exaggerated caricature of himself.

Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus have already co-starred in it, also as fictionalised versions of themselves.

Other guest stars to have appeared during the show's six season run include actor Ben Stiller, former Friends actor David Schwimmer and basketball player Shaquille O'Neal.

Seinfeld, which ran for nine seasons between 1989 and 1998, was a huge ratings hit in the US.

Its star, Jerry Seinfeld, reportedly turned down $5m an episode to make a 10th series.
