Noel in fresh attack on Liam
Liam and Noel Gallagher
Noel Gallagher can't bear to be in the same room as Liam
Oasis star Noel Gallagher has confessed he can't bear to be in the same room as brother Liam at the moment.

Noel said the pair had a "major disagreement" which led to him walking out on the band's current tour.

The songwriter/guitarist made his comments on Chris Moyles' Radio 1 show.

He told the DJ: "It's me that's kept the band together for the past six, seven years. It's not something that I've done lightly, but it's just been made impossible for me to be on the same stage or the same room as him (Liam)."

Noel quit the tour last month, amid suggestions that he wanted to spend more time with wife Meg and five-month old daughter Anais.

But the star insisted that was rubbish.

"That's the politician's line which is trotted out all the time," he scoffed.

"I don't like the way that people are blaming it on the fact that I want to spend more time at home. If you tasted my wife's tea, you wouldn't!"

While Noel has been back home, the band have fulfilled their European dates, with Paul Weller's guitarist Matt Deighton standing in.

He is due to resume his role for Oasis' British shows next month, but admitted the rift between him and Liam has not yet healed.

"I've had a major disagreement with monkey boy, the singer," Noel said.

"It's virtually impossible for me to tour at the moment because he's been a bit of an idiot. I'm not going to go into details here because I think it will all be sorted out privately at the end of the tour.

"I'd rather talk to him to his face. I'll be doing the British dates and then after that we've all got to sit down and have a chat, but at the moment he's losing it."

Oasis have added an extra date to their tour, with a free open-air show in Paris at the annual Fete de la Musique on 21 June.
