TV news presenter Natasha Kaplinsky is to return to work part-time, four and a half months after having a baby.

Five said she would be making a "phased" return from 16 February, hosting just its 1700 bulletin.

The 36-year-old announced she was pregnant six weeks after moving to Five from the BBC after signing a deal reported to be worth £1 million.

She gave birth to son Arlo, her first child with investment banker husband Justin Bower, in September.

It is not known when Kaplinsky will return to the channel's 1900 bulletin.

Matt Barbet and Isla Traquair have been filling in on both programmes in her absence.

Kaplinsky, whose arrival at Five was credited with a 72% increase in the audience for its bulletins, began her career presenting local news programmes for ITV in the south of England and London.

She later moved to Sky News and BBC One's Breakfast.
