Current Strictly Come Dancing champion Tom Chambers and runner-up Rachel Stevens are taking to the stage for a six-week UK tour of the BBC One show.

They will be joined on the tour, which starts in Newcastle on Friday night, by contestants from earlier series including actress Jill Halfpenny.

Also from the most recent series will be model and TV presenter Jodie Kidd.

The show's judges, Len Goodman, Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, will scrutinise performances.

Other former contestants on the tour include TV presenter Gethin Jones, comedian Julian Clary and ex-rugby player Kenny Logan.

Stevens said the tour was a "really, really exciting" prospect.

The former S Club 7 singer, who is partnered by Vincent Simone, said: "It is going to be really nerve-wracking, but it is going to be brilliant.

"I think the atmosphere is just amazing - it is going to be incredible."

The 45-date tour ends in Birmingham on 22 February.
