Thieves swipe Bo Duke's puppies

John Schneider
Schneider played Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard TV series

Former Dukes of Hazzard actor John Schneider has had two puppies bought for his children's Christmas presents stolen by car thieves.

The dogs were inside his car when it was taken last week in Los Angeles.

The vehicle has been found, but the dogs are still missing and Schneider, who played Bo Duke, has been out searching for the animals himself.

However, he is not planning to replace them just yet. "I think we're going to get my dogs back," he told reporters.

The 48-year-old added that he believed the people responsible for taking the Yorkie and Yorkie-Poodle mix puppies were taking good care of them.

Schneider played the blonde-haired, blue-eyed moonshine trafficker Bo Duke for six years in the The Dukes of Hazzard TV series.

He has since recorded several successful country music albums and appeared in Superman TV series Smallville.
